No. 20 Men’s Volleyball Stifles Elms, 3-0
BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 20 Endicott men's volleyball team swept Elms, 3-0, by scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-22 on Tuesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.) posted seven kills (.417), six digs, and three service aces to help the Gulls snap Elms' six-match winning streak entering tonight's matchup.
Ethan Norris (Hollis, N.H.) also chipped in with five kills (.444), four assists, and two aces in the home opener.
Earlier today, Laborde and Norris were named the New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) Athlete of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in matches from February 9-15. [FULL RELEASE].
Meanwhile, additional offensive contributions for the Gulls tonight included five kills from Jackson Gray (Glenmont, N.Y.), four putaways by Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.), and three kills apiece via Aaron Bennett (Haverhill, Mass.) and Alex Bui (Halfmoon, N.Y.).
Matty Tiernan (Bradford, R.I.) orchestrated Endicott's attack to the tune of a .268 hitting percentage behind a match-high 25 assists (.481 set%).
Tonight's match featured 11 ties (2-0-9) and five lead changes (1-0-4).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Earlier today, Endicott earned a No. 20 national ranking in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll.
- The Gulls extended their winning streak to seven straight matches (2/8/26 — 2/7/26).
- Thomas Matchett (North Smithfield, R.I.) tied a match-high four blocks
- Endicott is 3-2 in its last five home openers.
- The Blue and Green are 40-5 all-time against Elms (seven straight victories in series; 22-3 overall at home).
