Bio
Endicott College Director of Athletics Brian Wylie has
announced that Mark O’Meara has been appointed as the new
head men’s ice hockey coach effective immediately.
O’Meara takes over for Dan
Haugh, who had been behind the bench for the Gulls for
the past four seasons. Haugh leaves behind a 44-46-5 overall record
during his tenure.
O’Meara comes to Endicott following a 13 year stint as the
head coach at MIT. Prior to his decade-plus time with the
Engineers, O’Meara coached at the high school level for 11
seasons. O’Meara will bring a deep understanding of the game
and he has a history of continuously challenged his players to
reach their highest ability.
O’Meara inherits an Endicott team that has qualified for the
NECHA postseason in six of its eight club seasons. The Gulls have
posted an 86-75-9 overall program record, with their most
successful season coming in 2006-07 when the Blue and Green
qualified for the ACHA National Tournament.
