Eighteen teams faced off last night for what could be the last time as the 3 on 3 Men's basketball teams began their playoff season. Team Thomas Shea got off to a great start winning their first two games. In their third game of the night they ran into BSC and were overmatched. BSC's Aaron Harlbogen and Steven Harper combined for 18 points, advancing BSC to the semi-final on Monday.
Team Ryan Connelly one of the leagues best teams in the regular season, breezed through the first round winning 21-14 lead by power foward Matt Bibeau. Their second game was against arch rival Afternoon Delight. Matt Bibeau of team Ryan Connelly put up eleven points in the game while his star opponent, Connor Seymour of Afternoon Delight, had ten points in the contest. The game came down to the wire with Ben Petrides (Afternoon Delight) hitting a clutch bucket. Afternoon Delight walked away with the victory 22-20 in a stellar performance by both teams. Afternoon Delight will face BSC in the semi-final game.
Crazy Carl was undefeated in the regular season and received a bye for the first round of games. Their first game of the night was against The Number 2 TDB's; Crazy Carl won with a second half comeback 22-20. Crazy Carl then faced What A Call in the quarterfinals. Steven Carter of Crazy Carl was on fire and accumulated ten points in the game, while Trevor Grace and Tyler Kromberg combined for eight. The effort however was not enough to stop What A Call. What A Call advanced to live another day winning, 22-18, lead by Mike Carlson (twelve points), and Jake Cohen (seven points.
Tim Donaghy's Bookies also an undefeated team in the regular season beat Team O'Connor 21-18 in their first game with Beau Carson and Andriquez Farmer combining for eighteen points. Their next opponent was Multiple Scoregasms and would prove to be Tim Donaghy's Bookies biggest challenge. Multiple Scoregasms won with a great team effort, each player having at least four points and no more than eight. Their team effort faced with their stellar defense shut down TIm Donaghy's Bookies, with Multiple Scoregasms advancing to face What a Call in the semi final Monday.
