It was a crazy night for Powder Puff and Flag Football last night as the number one seed lost in flag football and last year’s champion lost their title in Powder Puff.
The Rookies and Jarheads lost in the Powder Puff semi-final. It was the Ravens, last years champions, against first-timers EC PP FSU. Sam Crough and Dianna Gustowski each had a pair of touchdowns as EC PP FSU won 38-26. The defending champions were not able to hold on to their title however still played well.
Beastmode moved on the championship beating The Narps 47-13. Beastmode had a great team effort with help from Darrel Kelton, Matt Bibeau, Robby Goldstick, Ryan Connelly, and Mike Russo who each had at least one touchdown.
AirValair also moved on to the championship beating the Daiquiris 39-35. This was a huge upset as the Daiquiris had been the favorite all year beating teams by eighty points. AirValair stunned the Daiquiris with great defense and a steady offense. With just under two minutes AirValair was down 35-32, when a Daiquiris player went for a lateral and AirValair recovered. They were able to convert to a touchdown and extra point to take the lead 39-35. Connor Seymour lead the final drive down the field however the receivers could not find the passes near the end zone leading to a turnover on downs and ending the game. AirValair was lead by their quarterback Rob Valair. He found Brian Millea and Dan Mello for a combined five times.
