2011 Indoor Soccer All-Stars
Men’s Indoor Soccer All-EC 1st Team
Forward- Mike Russo - An athletic spark plug who was a key contributor towards his team during the season. Russo was a playmaker on offense and had an extraordinary knack for setting up teammates for easy goals.
Midfield- Sean Murphy - Sean provided everything his team needed and more, especially in the playoffs. A strong offensive player with terrific motivational skills, Murphy captained an energetic and successful Mustache team to another playoff run in 2011.
Midfield-Robbie DiTommaso - Cannon for a leg. Robbie is able to shoot on goal from anywhere on the floor. With an undying passion for the game, when DiTomasso is allowed to get a shot off, there are few better than him.
Defense- Bryan Lee - A crafty veteran with a wide array of offensive moves. Bryan was all over the floor for his team and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. His ability shut down opposing players put Lee among the best that have ever played.
Defense- Steve Coletti- A great defensive player who gives it his all on every play. Very rarely allows easy shots on goals. Coletti is one of the most competitive players in the league and uses his enthusiasm to pester opponents all over the field.
Goalie- John Halsey- A terrific goal keeper who always gave his team a chance to win. Fundamentally sound with the ability to make spectacular plays look easy, Halsey has the ability to take games over with his propensity to elevate his game in big time situations.
Women’s Indoor Soccer All-EC 1st Team
Forward- Ari Cohn- A terrific athlete with great foot speed. Ari was a special player when she had the ball in her possession and was deadly around the net. Her ability to get open and make plays was an enormous asset to her team.
Midfield- Byrne Katz- A fundamentally sound player with several different offensive moves. Opened up plays for her other teammates and always seemed to capitalize on her opportunities on the soccer field.
Midfield- Lexi Dussi- The best player on one of the best teams in the league. Her offensive prowess and ability to make plays in clutch situations puts Dussi amongst the all-time greats.
Defense- Christine Calligan- A lockdown defender. Though she was a skilled offensive threat, Christine’s ability to harass opposing players made her the best defensive player in the league.
Defense- Victoria Hunt- A two-way star. Hunt has the skills to make opposing players look bad. She rarely allowed easy looks at the net and turned turnovers into points in the matter of seconds.
