Bio
Head Coach Meghan Fitzgerald enters her sixth year as head women’s lacrosse coach at Endicott. Fitzgerald found immediate success in Beverly, leading the Gulls to five consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championships in her first five years at the helm. During that time Endicott has amassed a 70-31 record, a 44-2 mark in conference play, and four NCAA Tournament appearances.
Last season the Blue and Green earned their eighth consecutive
CCC Championship after defeated Western New England. The Gulls then
moved on to the NCAA Tournament where they earned their first NCAA
tournament victory over Springfield in the first round 4-3.
Endicott then moved on to the second round where they were ousted
by Middlebury 13-4. At the end of the 2013 season her squad came
away with both the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year
while 10 players earned All-CCC nods.
In 2012 the Gulls captured their seventh consecutive CCC
Championship with a win over North Shore rival, Gordon. The
Blue and Green entered the tournament was the top seed after
another undefeated regular season performance in the CCC.
Endicott traveled to Waterville, Maine to face Colby College in the
First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Fitzgerald was named the
CCC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career with the
Gulls and coached two IWLCA All-Region players, the CCC Offensive
and Defensive Players of the Year, and nine All-CCC
honorees.
In 2011, Fitzgerald led the Gulls to their sixth conference
title in-a-row with a 10-4 triumph over top-seeded Western New
England in the CCC Championship. At the end of the regular
season, Endicott ended a streak of a program record 43 consecutive
conference wins. The Blue and Green capped off their 2011
season by hosting a NCAA Tournament First Round game against Tufts
at Endicott Stadium.
Fitzgerald also earned Coach of the Year honors in 2010 and has
coached 30 all-conference players, eight all-region players, and 16
academic all-conference honorees.
Fitzgerald arrived at Endicott from Division II Stonehill College
in North Easton, Mass. where she served as the assistant
women’s lacrosse coach for four seasons, working primarily
with the defensive unit. During her time at Stonehill, the
coaching staff held an overall record of 69 wins and 8 losses. In
addition, the Skyhawks were undefeated in the Northeast-10
Conference and captured the Conference Championship each year. The
Skyhawks earned berths to the NCAA Tournament in 2005 and 2007
– winning the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2005.
In addition to her coaching duties at Stonehill, she also worked in
the Office of Admission as a Senior Admission Counselor.
A 2004 graduate of William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y.,
Fitzgerald was a three-year starter on the William Smith lacrosse
team under head coach Pat Genovese. During her four-year playing
career, the Herons earned NCAA tournament berths in 2002, 2003 and
2004. Fitzgerald was named to the 2003 NCAA All-Tournament Team for
her efforts in the NCAA Semifinals. In 2004, she was named to the
IWLCA All-New York Region Second Team and the NYSWCAA All-State
Second Team. Currently, Fitzgerald serves on the IWLCA All-Pilgrim
Region selection committee.
Fitzgerald earned a B.A. in Public Policy from William Smith
College in 2004. She is originally from Sudbury, Mass. and
graduated from Dana Hall School (Wellesley, Mass.) in 2000.
Fitzgerald is also a member of Endicott’s Admission Staff,
working as an Associate Director of Admission. She currently
resides in Salem, Mass.
