KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Endicott senior defender Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) earned her fourth consecutive spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All New-England Region team, while classmate forward Chelsea Garlock (Meriden, Conn.) finished her Endicott career with her first All-Region selection.
The pair were two of just seven members of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) programs to be selected as All-Region. Peters was the only player from the conference to earn a spot on the First Team, while Garlock was a Fourth Team representative.
Peters, a two-time CCC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honoree, anchored a back-line that posted twelve shutouts in 2012, while also scoring the first two goals of her career, both of them game-winners. She led a defense that allowed only twelve goals against all season, only three of them in conference play. This is the first NSCAA First Team selection for Peters, after earning Second Team status the past two seasons and being named to the Third team as a freshman.
Garlock appeared in all 23 games for the Gulls and scored six goals to go with one assist for 13 points, second on the squad. A three year starter since transferring to Beverly, Garlock graduates among the leaders in shots and shots on goals for the Gulls and as a two-time member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Second Team.
The NSCAA recognizes the top players in each division across eight separate regions of the country. The All-Region teams are voted on by all head coaches within that region, with eligible players nominated by their coaches.
The association also honors students with All America teams and team and individual academic awards. Endicott's men's and women's soccer teams were each honored with the Academic team award for having a cumulative team GPA above 3.0.
