FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- This weekend marks the first meeting between the two teams since Salve Regina left the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) for the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). The last time the two programs squared off was in the 2023 CCC Championship, which Endicott won in two games (5-2 L, 1-0 W).
- Salve Regina holds a slim advantage in the all-time series (36-34 record). However, since 2019, the Gulls hold a 7-3 record in the 10 meetings between the two teams.
- This season, the Gulls and Seahawks each feature some of the best pitching staffs in Division III. Endicott ranks first in DIII in team WHIP (1.12) and fifth in team ERA (3.36). Meanwhile, the Seahawks rank ninth in WHIP (1.27) and 16th in ERA (3.98).
- Both teams had the Pitcher of the Year within their respective conferences. Endicott's Brady Stuart (Hudson, Mass.) garned Conference of New England (CNE) Pitcher of the Year honors, and currently ranks third in DIII in ERA (1.24) and fourth in WHIP (0.86). Salve Regina's Nolan Romanowski (Wynantskill, N.Y.) earned NEWMAC Pitcher of the Year awards, and currently sports a 3.09 ERA (106th) and 1.05 WHIP (38th).
- Salve Regina won its NCAA Regional pod (DeSales pod) in the minimum three games, while Endicott won its Regional (Montclair State pod) in four games (one loss to Whitworth in the Championship round).
