Stuart Named ABCA National Pitcher Of The Year; Becomes First Consensus National Pitcher Of The Year In Program History
ABCA RELEASE | D3BASEBALL.COM RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. — After he was announced as the D3baseball.com National Pitcher of the Year last month, Endicott baseball senior right-handed pitcher Brady Stuart (Hudson, Mass.) has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) National Pitcher of the Year, per Monday afternoon's release.
Stuart is the first Gulls pitcher in program history to earn consensus National Pitcher of the Year honors (both D3baseball.com and ABCA), and joins Gabe Van Emon '23 (Lexington, Mass.) as the only ABCA National Pitchers of the Year in program history.
The right-hander was a steady force at the top of the Gulls' rotation all season in 2026, and headlined a national runner up rotation.
In his senior campaign, he has posted career bests in ERA (1.81), strikeouts (103), WHIP (1.01), innings pitched (89.1), starts (15), and wins (9-1 record).
His dominance has been significant on a national scale, as he ranked seventh in DIII in strikeouts, 14th in ERA, and 23rd in WHIP.
He led the Conference of New England (CNE) in practically every major category, as well as Region II.
His season-long brilliance from the mound can be showcased by his program-record three single-season shutouts (MUW, 2/20/26; WNE, 4/4/26; Nichols, 5/7/26).
On February 20, Stuart took the hill for his senior season debut down in LaGrange, Ga. against Mississippi Univsersity for Women (MUW). The right-hander became just the second Gull in Coach Haley's tenure to throw a no-hitter, as he dazzled the Owls over a seven-inning mercy-rule win (7 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K).
His competitive edge did not falter under the bright lights, as he kicked off Endicott's 2026 CNE Tournament run with a brilliant complete game shutout performance against Nichols en route to Endicott's 7-0 win. The Gulls ace finished with a line of 9 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 12 K against the Bison, and in that start, his 12 strikeouts established a new single-game career best.
He followed up that start with another dominant playoff start, this time against Husson in the Montclair State NCAA Regional opener. In that game (5/15/26), the right-hander featured a line of 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 12 K, and more importantly he paved the way for Endicott's commanding 17-0 win.
His gutsy relief performance against Salve Regina in Super Regionals set the tone for an Endicott Super Regional victory, clinching them a fourth straight berth in the College World Series.
Then, in the College World Series (CWS), he made four appearances (two starts).
In Endicott's CWS opener against No. 6/8 Salisbury on May 29, the right-hander pitched six magnificent innings. He limited the Seagulls to four hits (one run) through six innings, and fanned 11 en route to Endicott's key 5-1 victory.
Then, a few days later, he sent the Gulls to their first national championship series after closing out the final inning against No. 16/18 Adrian in a 4-2 Gulls win.
He made his national championship debut against No. 1/1 Denison on Thursday, June 4th. He turned in a gutsy 4+ IP in Endicott's 11-10 game two win before returning for another two innings of relief later that afternoon in the winner-take-all game three.
He brought a championship pedigree to the mound that had the Gulls right on the doorstep of their first national championship, and never backed down on the highest of stages.
YEAR IN REVIEW
Endicott (44-14) appeared in its first ever national championship. The Gulls won game two in walkoff fashion to force game three, but ultimately fell to Denison, 4-3, in the winner-take-all finale on June 4.
Among the many impressive feats from this year's squad, one of the most impressive was their performance in winner-take-all elimination games.
The 2026 Gulls were the first team in DIII history to win four winner-take-all games, which eventually earned them a berth in the national championship.
With their run to the College World Series, Endicott became the first team since Chapman (2005-09) to appear in four straight CWS'.
