BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 12 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Nichols, 4-1, in Friday evening's Conference of New England (CNE) matchup from the Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Endicott took an early 1-0 lead at the 1:59 mark of the first period after Jo Wimler (Portland, Conn.) took one coast-to-coast off of Lily Anderson's (St. Paul, Minn.) quick-hitter feed from the Endicott zone.
The Gulls maintained their lead for most of the first period, but the Bison broke through at the 16:07 mark to even the score.
Heading into the second period, the Gulls opened with 1:48 remaining on a power play opportunity, and they made the most of it. Cammi Ahern (Oswego, N.Y.) tapped home Teaghan Hall's (West Springfield, Mass.) pass from behind the net to give the Gulls the lead.
Then, at the 15:02 mark of the second, Wimler netted her second of the game to make it a 3-1 lead, and Ella Rago (Westford, Mass.) converted another power play goal for the Blue and Green prior to the second intermission to add more insurance (17:22).
A scoreless third period secured the 4-1 conference win for the Gulls.
Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) improved to 3-0-0 on the season after her 28-save performance between the pipes.
