Baseball Ranks Program-Best Second Overall In D3baseball.com Final Poll
BEVERLY, Mass. — After its first-ever runner-up finish at the NCAA Division III College World Series (CWS) this past weekend, the Endicott baseball team was ranked a program-best No. 2 overall in the end of season poll, D3baseball.com announced in their rankings today.
Endicott's end of season ranking ties last season's No. 2 national ranking for the best in program history.
The Gulls won their way out of their four-team pod at the CWS, and were matched up with No. 1 nationally ranked Denison in the national championship.
In the best-of-three series, the Gulls dropped game one before battling back to take game two in walk-off fashion, 11-10 (10 Inn.).
Unfortunately, in the rubber match, the Blue and Green fell to the Big Red by a 4-3 score in extra innings.
YEAR IN REVIEW
Endicott (44-14) appeared in its first ever national championship. The Gulls won game two in walkoff fashion to force game three, but ultimately fell to Denison, 4-3, in the winner-take-all finale on June 4.
Among the many impressive feats from this year's squad, one of the most impressive was their performance in winner-take-all elimination games.
The 2026 Gulls were the first team in DIII history to win four winner-take-all games, which eventually earned them a berth in the national championship.
With their run to the College World Series, Endicott became the first team since Chapman (2005-09) to appear in four straight CWS'.
