BEVERLY, Mass — The No. 6 Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Johnson & Wales (RI), 3-2, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
After trailing 2-0 after the first period, Maddie DiNardo (Topsfield, Mass.) connected on the power play after tipping in a shot from Abbey Agrodnia (Cape Elizabeth, Maine.) at the 18:45 mark of the second period to give the Gulls their first goal of the game.
Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) found the equalizer with 6:30 left to play in the third period following an initial save by the Johnson & Wales goalie. Joey Brown (Scituate, Mass.) worked the puck to just above the goal line and fired it in front, where Hall jammed home her fifth goal of the season.
In overtime, Lilly Corso (Winchester, Mass.) potted her second career game-winner after picking up the loose puck from Hall. Corso pushed home the goal, sending it to the bottom right corner of the net to give the Blue and Green the edge.
Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) made 11 saves in the victory as her record improves to 6-1-0 on the season
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls improve to 10-0-1 all-time against Johnson & Wales.
- Dinardo notched her second goal of the season.
- Agrodnia recorded her 20th career assist.
- Hall is now tied for fourth all-time in career points with 78.
