Stuart Signs Minor League Free Agent Deal With Angels
BEVERLY, Mass. — Following his historic 2026 senior campaign at Endicott, reigning consensus Division III National Pitcher of the Year Brady Stuart '26 (Hudson, Mass.) inked a minor league free agent deal with the Los Angeles Angels earlier this week.
Stuart becomes the fifth Gull ever to sign a deal with a Major League Baseball (MLB) organization, joining former teammates Caleb Shpur '23 (Tigers organization) and Jordan Gottesman '24 (Giants organization) as active minor leaguers. Previously, alums Matt Bishop '06 and Tad Gold '14 also played in the minor leagues. (See Pro Gulls page for more)
Stuart spearheaded the top-tier Gulls pitching staff in 2026. After the conclusion of the College World Series, in which Endicott finished as the national runner-up, Stuart boasted an ERA of 1.81 (14th in DIII) with 103 strikeouts (seventh), a WHIP of 1.01 (21st), 89.1 IP (eighth), and a 9-1 record (T-14th).
The 6-2, 22 year-old right-hander features a three-pitch arsenal in his mix. His four-seam fastball tops at right around 93 miles per hour, while his two-seamer sits around 90 and his deadly wipeout slider, which he throws 54.8% of the time, sits between 79-82 miles per hour with almost 17 inches of horizontal break (info obtained via Ben Gillis pitching dashboard).
Stuart will begin his professional career with the Arizona Complex League (ACL) Angels out of Tempe, which is the Rookie Ball affiliate of the Angels.
