BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 12 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team opened up its 2025-26 season with a 1-0 shutout win over Southern Maine on Saturday evening in the Raymond J. Bourque Ice Arena.
After a scoreless first period, senior forward Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) got the Gulls on the board early in the second (0:55) after her wrist shot snuck through a crowd and found the back of the net.
The Gulls staved off the rest of the period, and headed to the third up 1-0.
In the third period, the Blue and Green's defense held strong and limited the Huskies to just five shots. Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) turned away 22 shots on the evening to earn the shutout and season opening win (1-0-0 on the season).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls improve to 8-1-1 all-time against the Huskies.
- Jo Wimler (Portland, Conn.) and Lilly Corso (Winchester, Mass.) both earned assists on the Hall goal.
- Hall led the squad with seven shots on the evening.
- 11th career shutout for Moritz.
- 30th career goal for Hall (seventh in program history).
WHAT'S NEXT
No. 12 Endicott (1-0-0) welcomes Plattsburgh State to Raymond J. Bourque Arena next Saturday for a 3 PM puck drop. Southern Maine (0-2-0) heads to New England College for a 4 PM puck drop on Friday.
